CLEP holds Leptospira spp. strains isolated from humans and several animal species. The collection comprises of Reference Strains obtained from international collections and strains of clinical origin, isolated in different brazilian states, representing the circulating serovars in the country. Method of preservation include: Cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen (-196ºC) and freezer at -80ºC, and passages in semi solid EMJH medium every six months.
