The collection has complete specimens preserved in alcohol, for studies of systematics and ecology of Parnaíba deltaic region. The specimens are mainly from Igaraçu River and some lakes in the Parnaíba River , in the Parnaiba Delta , Piauí , representing a great sampling tool for these areas .
