The USDA-ARS Systematic Mycology & Microbiology Laboratory includes the U.S. National Fungus Collections (BPI) with one-million reference specimens. Data associated with these specimens have been computerized and are available on-line. In addition reports of fungi on plants provide a comprehensive account of the host range and geographic distribution of fungi on plants throughout the world. Data are continuously added to the databases from herbarium specimens, newly published fungus-host distributions, and accurate scientific names of plant pathogenic fungi. Data shared with the speciesLink network refer to samples collected in South America.
