CPAP Herbarium was founded in 1984 by the researchers Vali Pott and Arnildo Pott. It is part of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. Is a local herbarium, with vouchers colected in all subdivisions of Pantanal Wetland drainage basin. Is one of the most representative collections of this Biome, with about 25,000 especimens. CPAP also have specimens from Chaco, Cerrado (brazilian savanna), and Deciduous and Semideciduous forests of the no flooded part of Pantanal Wetland.
