The ESAL Herbarium, of the Federal University of Lavras, has about 30,000 exsicates and is one of the most important collections of the vegetal biodiversity of the Campos das Vertente's region, in the south central region of Minas Gerais, possessing an important and historical history of research in flora of that environment.
