The Herbarium MACK was founded in 2009 as a initiative of Dr. Daniela Sampaio Silveira with support of research funded by CNPq and the Mackenzie Presbyterian University. The Herbarium MACK aims to maintain the collection available for educational purposes and scientific research contributing to the knowledge of the flora of different phytogeographic domains of Brazil. Currently the collection of angiosperms, gymnosperms and ferns have deposited 3500 exsiccates, out of which 1560 are computerized. The Herbarium MACK is a recognized Brazilian Herbaria Network (Botanical Society of Brazil) and linked to the Course of Biological Sciences of Mackenzie Presbyterian University institution.
