The Arachnida collection of the Museum of Zoology "Prof. Adão José Cardoso" located at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP)
has nearly 1000 lots with 3000 recorded specimens and about 1000 not recorded yet. The material is preserved in alcohol 70%. There are
specimens from several Brazilian regions (mainly Southeast). The collection consists of material from researches of Unicamp. The
cataloging and digitalization of the collection are in progress using the MS-Access data bank manager. Most part of the collection has
a scientific purpose, destined to researchers interested in Arachnida. However, it is available for graduating and post-graduating
students. The museum has also collections to borrow, exchange and for educational purpose.
