The Gastropoda collection of the Museum of Zoology "Prof. Adão José Cardoso" located at the Universidade
Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) has approximately 40 lots with 135 recorded specimens and about 800 not recorded yet. The collection
comprises dry and preserved (in alcohol 70%) specimens. There are specimens from several Brazilian regions (Southeast, North and
Northeast), and others localities, such as Antarctica. The collection consists of donated material mainly by Drs. Woodruff W. Benson,
Pierre C.J. Montouchet and Flávio Dias Passos from UNICAMP. The cataloging and digitalization of the collection use the MS-Access data
bank manager. Most part of the collection has a scientific purpose, destined to researchers interested in Gastropoda. However, it is
available for graduating and post-graduating students. The museum has also collections to borrow, exchange and with educational
purpose.
